And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves. Mark 11:17.
Jesus our Master was a master of prayer while here on earth 2000 years ago,He talked so much about prayer, and practiced it day and night.Even His disciples wondered, and humbly came to Him and said …teach us to pray.
If there is any point in time that we are in need of prayers and even more prayers,it is certainly now.Looking at what is happening around us and the soon coming of our Lord at hand, before the great tribulation the world has never witness. So it’s time for us to pray even more than before!
You are a house for God,because the Spirit of God lives inside you.1 Cor. 3:16 says, Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? Therefore you and I,are to be a ‘walking prayer altar’,that is,a house of prayer unto God.
The Church or the fellowship of the believers should be a place of prayer. The Church should be too hot for any devils or their agents to operate.A prayerful church is a powerful church, and this fact is well known in the kingdom of darkness. That’s why no any other areas that is so under attack like the PRAYER LIFE,of a church, family or individual.
Any ‘house’ where prayer is the ‘order of the day’,it’s difficult for thieves to enter and operate freely or even to hide without being caught.By thieves here,I mean our spiritual enemies. For Jesus said,The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly, John 10:10.
Due to our prayerlessness,we have allowed thieves to enter in,and they have stolen a lot of things. That’s why today in the churches you can find that most people are depressed, bored and wore-out,because the thieves have stolen joy, peace, love, unity, health, blessings and the list goes on.But thanks be to God that we can still recover all that have been stolen, and usher in the greatest revival of our time if only we wake-up unto prayer.
