… ‘and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land’.2Chro.7:14b.

One vital condition God has laid down for us to meet if we want Him to hear our prayers and forgive our sin and heal our land, is the condition of turning from our evil ways.It is so dis-heartily to see wickedness which we once thought happens only outside the Church among unbelievers,crippling into the church and those who are suppose to be custodians of righteousness becoming instrument of wickedness.In this verse of the scripture God addresses His people ,among other things,to turn from their wicked ways. Isaiah 55:7 also says,Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

I found in Proverbs some of the  doings of a wicked man or woman which the Lord hates and every other sins committed flows from these ‘seven sins’. Just as God loves, it’s no surprising that there are also certain things that He hates.  These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:Pro.6:16. Check yourself and see if any of these seven things below which God detest are evident in your life.

The first listed among the list is A PROUD LOOK…we can’t enter heaven with all those ‘proudness and arrogantness’ we exhibit both inwardly and outwardly. Some People are so proud and arrogant today than their fore-fathers were in their days. Arrogant maybe because of their knowledge,or academic qualification,job or business career,riches or material possessions and so on. Don’t underestimate or look down on others because they don’t have the knowledge or qualification you have,or because they are not handsome or beautiful as you are or for any other reasons because we are not the same.We are unique individuals with unique DNA and destinies. Pride makes people to distance themselves because they look down on others for all manner of reasons and excuses. May God help us to learn from the humility of Jesus Our Lord,read Phi.2:5-11 to have an idea of His humility.

LYING and speaking untrue words.The Bible says let your yea be yea, and your nay be nay Mathew 5.37.God hates a lying tongue speaking falsehood, with deliberate intention to defraud,misled and take advantage of others for selfish and personal gains.It’s common this days to say I LOVE YOU or some gospel cliché to fellow brethren  but you know it’s not coming from your heart,take note God sees it.

HANDS THAT SHED INNOCENT BLOOD;human blood are so precious and God will not hold anyone that shed innocent blood guiltless. Anyone committing abortion, murder or killing of innocent unborn babies and people,are destroying God’s image, such a one seems to be in the league with the devil who has come to destroy. Let it be know also,that the bible also say that he that hated his brother or sister is a murderer. 1John 3:15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

AN HEART THAT DEVISETH WICKED IMAGINATIONS; God hates heart that thinks,wish,plot evil and wicked things both against Him and man.Some people would wish that others will fail or fall,so they can sit and laugh,they may pretend to sympathize with them but inside their heart they mock and laugh at their failures. Be reminded God knows your heart,you cannot deceive Him.Before God the voice of your heart is more louder than the voice of your mouth!

Another thing that God hates is FEET  THAT BE SWIFT IN RUNNING TO MISCHIEF.Our feet is given to us to glorify God with, and we should only go to places that gives God glory. We should avoid going to places where we can easily fall prey to temptations and tactics of the evil one.Beware of going along with friends who can corrupt you.

The sixth thing that God hates is A FALSE WITNESS THAT SPEAKETH LIES; This is different from the second thing that God hates A LYING TONGUE,it is when a person say or spread false reports against another. Lets say you are a witness to a fight between your friend and a stranger,your friend is the one at fault,you know, but you gave a false account before the authority in favour of your friend,God says He hates such.

The seventh thing that God hates and which He calls abomination is,HE THAT SOWETH DISCORD AMONG BRETHREN. While God hates the six(6) vices mentioned above,but on the seventh it says God hates ”HE THAT SOWETH” or that causes disunity,be it in a family,public arena or in church community.Are you among those that goes ‘to and fro’ gossiping and talking about others. God hates that too,infact He calls it ABOMINATION.

Seeing the things that God hates as stated in Proverbs 6:16-19,ask yourself if any of this is evident in your life,be sincere before God now.Repent and confess your sins before Him and ask Him to help you to love what He loves and to hate what He hates.
