But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD,Gen.6:8.
In conclusion there are different points I had mentioned and not mentioned in this topic,nevertheless I want to talk about Noah who found grace before God.Despite the widespread evil and wickedness that was prevalent during his days he lived a separated and holy life towards God,he was a good example,husband and father to his wife and children.He walked with God just like his fore-father Enoch whom was translated so that he did not taste death.
For the first time,we found the word ‘grace’ mentioned in the bible,but it’s worth to mentioned that the operation of grace has be in force right from the beginning when Adam was made.It was because of His grace (unmerited favor) that God made male and female in the first place. Even when they sinned He covered them with an animal skin as a sign of the perfect sacrifice of Our Lord Jesus on Calvary cross years to come for all humanity. In every generation there is always a remnant reserve by grace, just like Noah and his household,so are there also remnant in this our generation whom the Lord has reserve by His grace.I’m talking about you and I,we have found grace in His sight in this dispensation of grace.
Having found grace before God,Noah maintained it.Through the grace of God he was able to live a just and perfect life in his generation.Many of us today,would argue that it’s impossible to be perfect,but the bible said Noah was perfect,and if he could,we too can be perfect even in this sinful generation.Let’s not forget that Our Lord Jesus says,we should be perfect even as Our Heavenly Father is perfect. Matt.5:48. We who had find grace before God shouldn’t take the grace of God in vain,be warned that the grace of God is not a license to sin or continue in sin. What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?God forbid.. Roms.6:1-2a.
In essence Noah walked with God,that’s to say that where ever God is that where you find Noah.He goes where God goes and don’t go where God wouldn’t go.He position himself to do the Will of God no matter the cost.It must have really be difficult for Noah,seeing all his friends,neighbours,colleagues and even relations turning away from God and His ways,unto iniquities yet he distanced himself from all that,and choose instead to walk with God.By God’s grace you and I can be different in this wicked and dark world,especially as the world gets darker and darker before Our Master comes.Let’s choose to walk with God no matter what it’ll cost.Today many of us are busy working for God but not walking with Him..what a disaster! Walking with God and working for God are two separate thing,and it’s best if we both WALK with God and WORK for God just like Noah.If we only do the latter without the former then what Jesus said could be applicable Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.Matt.7:21-23.
In walking with God Noah obeyed God and did His will even in the most impossible scenario.There haven’t be any rain before then,talk less of flood but God told him to built an ark of about 450 feet long,75 feet wide and 45 feet high,how foolish that sounds you may say! During this period of building the ark,Noah reached out to his fellow men and women before the rain and flood came,but instead of yielding to his message they mocked him.It took months for Noah judgement day proclamation to come to pass to the dismay of the people who must have mistaken him for a fool or fake preacher. At the end God prove him right.I encourage you if you are one of those appointed by God with a message for this generation,go ahead and say it,no matter how stupid, new or strange it may sound before the ears of people.Even if it doesn’t come to pass just then,don’t worry,only God determines when to bring His word to pass. Because God’s full judgement is withheld or delayed over this wicked world doesn’t mean He is sleeping,it might be because of the few among us still crying out to Him for mercy.
Please God help us (put your name here) to be like Noah in this generation in Jesus name.Amen!!!
